Getting Started

How do I create my first 8D report?+
After signing in, click 'New Report' in the dashboard. Fill in the problem description, then use the AI assistant to help complete each D-step. The AI will guide you through the 8D process step by step.
What authentication methods are supported?+
We support email/password, magic link (passwordless), and OAuth providers (GitHub, Google). Magic links are sent to your email and allow secure login without a password.
How do I invite team members?+
Team collaboration features are available in Pro and Enterprise plans. Go to Settings > Team Management to invite members by email. They'll receive an invitation link to join your workspace.

AI Analysis

How accurate is the AI analysis?+
Our AI is trained on industry-standard 8D, A3, and VDA methodologies. However, AI analysis is an assistive tool - always review and validate results using your engineering expertise. The AI helps identify gaps and suggests improvements, but final decisions should be made by qualified quality engineers.
Can I customize the AI analysis criteria?+
Yes, Pro and Enterprise users can configure analysis rules in Settings > AI Configuration. You can adjust sensitivity levels, add custom compliance checks, and define industry-specific requirements.
What data does the AI use for analysis?+
The AI analyzes only the content you upload in your reports. We do not use your reports to train general-purpose models. All analysis is performed on-demand and your data remains private. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Reports & Data

How do I export reports?+
Open any report and click the 'Export' button in the top toolbar. You can export as PDF (for printing/sharing) or JSON (for integration with other systems). PDF exports include all sections and maintain formatting.
Is my data backed up?+
Yes, all reports are automatically saved and backed up. We maintain daily backups with 30-day retention. Enterprise plans include extended retention and custom backup schedules.
Can I import existing 8D reports?+
Currently, manual entry is required. CSV/Excel import functionality is planned for Q2 2026. For bulk imports, contact support@smart8d.ai for assistance.
What happens if I delete a report?+
Deleted reports are moved to trash and can be restored within 30 days. After 30 days, reports are permanently deleted. Enterprise plans offer extended retention periods.

Billing & Plans

What's included in each plan?+
Free: 5 reports/month, basic AI analysis. Pro: Unlimited reports, advanced AI, team collaboration, API access. Enterprise: Everything in Pro plus custom integrations, priority support, SLA guarantees, and dedicated account management.
Can I change plans anytime?+
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. Prorated refunds are available for annual plans.
Do you offer discounts for annual plans?+
Yes, annual plans include a 20% discount compared to monthly billing. Enterprise customers can negotiate custom pricing based on volume and requirements.
What payment methods are accepted?+
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and PayPal. Enterprise customers can arrange invoicing and wire transfers.

Technical Issues

The page is loading slowly or not responding+
Try refreshing the page (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R). Clear your browser cache if issues persist. Check our status page at status.smart8d.ai for service updates. If problems continue, contact support with your browser and OS information.
I'm getting authentication errors+
Ensure you're using the correct email address. Try resetting your password or requesting a new magic link. Clear browser cookies if you're switching between accounts. OAuth users should ensure their provider account is active.
API requests are failing+
Verify your API key is correct and included in the Authorization header. Check rate limits - you may have exceeded your plan's quota. Review API documentation at /api-access. For persistent issues, contact api@smart8d.ai.
Data is not syncing across devices+
Reports sync automatically. If you don't see updates, refresh the page. Ensure you're logged into the same account on all devices. Check your internet connection. If sync issues persist, contact support.
